What are the terms of service?
Terms of Service apply, please see SMS Terms and Conditions of Service for further information.
SMS Terms and Conditions of Service
These terms, conditions and notices (“Terms of Service”) relate to the EMCAS automated text service (the “Service”). These supplement the EMCAS website terms and conditions and privacy policy. “We” refers to EMCAS and “you” refers to the user of the Service.
Charges
EMCAS will not charge you for sending or receiving text (SMS) or picture (MMS) messages under this Service.
However, your network provider will charge you their standard network rate and we cannot accept any legal liability in respect of any charges charged by your mobile network operator for your use of the Service, or for any other loss or damage which may be caused by your use of the Service.
Messages
There is one set SMS message as follows:
Text “EMC” to 81066. As this is an automated text service, it is not intended that EMCAS will read your message and so it cannot personally respond to any messages but you will receive a text back confirming an operator will contact you shortly. An operator will then contact you upon receipt of your message to discuss your query whether it be regarding the service we offer, an ongoing claim you have with us or any other query you may have. There may be a delay between when a message is sent and when it is received.
This Service is for use in the United Kingdom. This is not a subscription service, so you do not need to unsubscribe. EMCAS will not send you any messages other than those you have requested.
Privacy
The Service is being provided for EMCAS Limited by a third party service provider.
Your mobile phone number will be stored only for this Service. Mobile telephone numbers will be deleted when they are no longer required for Service provision.
EMCAS will not appear as the message sender in your inbox or be stated on the phone bill. The number 81066 will appear instead.
Service Usage and Discontinuation
There is a fair usage requirement for this Service and so excessive or wrongful use of the Service by any mobile phone may lead to that phone being blocked for this Service. Such blocking is at the absolute discretion of EMCAS.
We may discontinue, suspend or change this Service at any time and will inform customers via this website.
